Two of my major loves are thrifting and crafting. I’ve always been creative, but put it on hold for the most part while I was raising my children; however, I never stopped thrifting and buying craft supplies.
Now, 30-something years later, I find myself with loads of fabric, lace, beads, doodads, etc., and patterns, patterns, patterns, which I continue to save and collect daily, weekly, constantly — so many things to make, so little time!
For many, many years, I’ve been encouraged to sell my homemade crafts. I used to spend months making handmade gifts for my friends and family, and then my children, but people’s styles are different than mine, and I always worried that my gifts weren’t being used because they didn’t reflect the recipient’s home décor, so I began to gradually stop doing that.
Mostly, I just enjoy the designing and creating, or finding a new pattern that makes me exclaim, “Wow!” — so I will have a lot of one-of-a-kind items listed periodically. Almost everything in my craft stash has been collected over 30+ years of thrifting, inheriting, contributions from friends and family, and now…I would just like to make stuff, enjoy the fun and endorphins it brings into my life, and share my stuff with others who love this type of crafting as much as I do.
In the past decade or so, I’ve honed my niche to create a personal style that includes: antique, farmhouse, country, old-fashioned, grandma, shabby-chic and a bit of primitive — plus things I’ve upcycled — and I’ve come to realize that there are hundreds of thousands of others out there that also appreciate the same!
I am also very thrifty and love to gift things to others; thus, my goal for My Quiet Heart Creations is basically just to FINALLY use up my current craft supplies (HAHA!), which are still being added to, learn and master new techniques, and make others smile.
So…I hope you’re inspired by my products, downloads, free patterns and other things you’ll find on my site, and I hope you and your family and friends will also be delighted to get a handmade gift in the mail from My Quiet Heart Creations!
